Dress
Red is considered very lucky in Hong
Kong; so incorporating it into your dress
subtly for a business meeting will impress
your host.
Meetings
Alcohol is a major part of Chinese business
and meetings. It is rude to refuse a drink
in Hong Kong; if you don’t drink; accept it
and make the toast with your host.
Gifts
Gift giving is a very important in Chinese
business. It is best to give something that
your home country or city is known for.
Hand Gestures and Body Language
Handshaking and bowing is standard in
Hong Kong, but you may also be greeted
with a round of applause. Out of respect,
applaud in return.
Formalities
Use only the colors black and white on
business cards and presentation materials.
Do not rub your chopsticks together
before dining as it implies you have
received poor quality chopsticks.
