Connect

Connecting with cultures has given me and my family a sense of belonging to a global community. Travel has given me awareness and appreciation for how much more alike than we are different. These connections enable our collective strength.

Voluntourism

When you're back

Let your family and friends know about your experience and the feeling of fulfillment you received giving back while taking some time for yourself on holiday. Encourage anyone you others to do the same and share your knowledge of VolunTourism.

If you feel especially attached to the organization you volunteered at, you can apply to be an official ambassador for them. This would involve representing the organization in your region and arranging for others to visit and volunteer.

Another option while your back is to get in the habit of sending care packages or donations to the organization when you can. Your time is an important source of volunteering, yet the organization will often be in need of funds or other items. It's best to ask the director what you can do to help from home for specifics.
