Egypt

Egypt is located in northeastern Africa --- to the north- the Mediterranean Sea, the east Israel & the Red Sea, south - Sudan, and west - Libya.

In the 5th century BC --- Herodotus wrote 'nowhere are there so many marvelous things...nor in the world are to be seen so many things of unspeakable greatness' - and not too much has changed. The Sphinx, the Nile, ancient Luxor, the pyramids - Egypt's scope is amazing.

The city has sprawled so close to its ruins that the 4,500-year-old tombs are now nearly downtown.

Nearly all of Egypt is desert, the small part that isn't - the valley of the Nile River is vital to the nation and 95% of the population lives within a few miles of its banks.

When you travel to Egypt, you can't miss places like Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, and Aswan. But, there are lots of other activities to try...a Nile River cruise, a camel ride in the Sahara, a tour inside the pyramids. And, if you want to visit Egypt ‘off-season', when prices and tourist crowds are low the best month is October.
