Honduras
Honduras is located in Central America on the southern edge of the Caribbean Sea.
The beach city of La Ceiba is named for the ceiba tree which was reportedly so tall that the first inhabitants of Honduras claimed it was the ladder that god used when he came to visit Earth.
La Ceiba has been called The Capital of Ecotourism. And after researching this destination I tend to agree. There are so many naturally beautiful things to see in Honduras including Pico Bonito, or ‘beautiful peak,' which soars to almost 2,500 meters in height and is surrounded rainforest, spectacular landscapes with cascading waterfalls.
Honduras also has a spirited nightlife which fires up around Wednesday and reaches a frenzied pitch by Saturday night. There is always something fun happening in Zona Viva, or lively zone, which is a strip of bars and restaurants that runs parallel to the Caribbean Sea.
If you are an animal lover, Honduras has a fantastic wildlife Refuge which you can visit that is home to jaguar, white-faced and howler monkeys, manatees, crocodiles
