Located in north central France, its the capital of the nation and home to 2.2 million people.

Although it's a huge city, for the traveler, its really well laid out and easy to navigate.

Paris is one of the world's greatest cities with a practically endless amount of things to do. And virtually every time you turn around there is something more famous than the next.

Make an effort to speak a little French. Even a simple bonjour will do. And when you are speaking English, speak slowly.

Also, consider a Museum and Monument Pass before you go. You save money --- but more importantly you save time by avoiding the long line-ups.

To save money when eating out consider eating at the counter vs. sitting at a table -- and if you have the choice between 'a la carte' and 'fixed price' menus --- the fixed price is usually the best value.
