Mayan Riviera
The Mayan Riviera is the area that runs South of Cancun right along the Caribbean Sea.
It is easy to understand why the Mayan Riviera has become the hottest spot in Mexico. There are miles of white beaches, ancient Mayan ruins, magnificent resorts, plus great shopping and food. Here's are a few pictures...
You can see the ‘Great Mayan Reef', the largest coral reef in the Western Hemisphere, which makes for amazing diving.
There are a couple of unique "eco-archeological" theme parks there as well: Xcaret and Xel-Ha
Finally, there are a number of Mayan ruin sites you can't miss Chitchen Itza! This amazing Mayan pyramid was just made one of the new 7 wonders of the world!
