Puerto Vallarta is located in the western part of the state of Jalisco in central México and overlooks the Pacific Ocean.
It's the second-most visited resort area in all of México, attracting almost 2.5 million tourists every year.
Puerto Vallarta is clean and many people feel safer there than other parts of Mexico.
Of course the great weather and the beaches are a huge draw, but there is some beautiful architecture as well - especially downtown.
