Honolulu

One of 8 major islands making up the State of Hawaii is Oahu, featuring the state's capitol Honolulu.

There are many reasons that millions of visitors every year flock to Oahu. The scenery is breathtaking equipped with turquoise water, gorgeous beaches and amazing weather year-round. Hawaii really has all the bells and whistles of a great resort destination with all sorts of accommodation, dining, shopping, golf and every water sport you can imagine. Of course great weather year-round and biggest are the biggest draw, but Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial are definitely worth a visit.

If you are planning to visit the island of Oahu here are a few travel tips:

The weather year round is fantastic. In the summer, the average temperature is 88°F (31°C) in the summer and 81°F (27°C) in the winter - not much of a difference.

You'll find the highest prices during the winter months, December thru March. But the summer is also a surprisingly busy time because it is popular for families and honeymoons.

Packing is a breeze. Everywhere you go is what I would call 'resort casual' so Shorts, T-shirts, sandals and a swimsuit are pretty much all you'll need.

And be sure to take Sunscreen, hats and sunglasses with you. They can be expensive on the island.
