Documentation and Planning
There are lots of people out there who find planning a trip just about as much as taking one.
And if you're one of them there's a long list of websites dedicated to helping you with all the little details of your trip so grab a pen and paper you're going to want to write these ones down.
You've picked your destination... now it's time to plan your activities. A great site for that is viator.com.
Plug in your destination city and when you're going to be there... and the site gives you a list of shows, tours, day trips and other activities. You can book them right then there and this one's good for cities all over the world.
You can also book your dinner plans online if you want to. Find and research restaurants around the world at fodors.com. Then head to opentable.com to make a reservation. Or if your summer plans include a road trip south of the border... check out roadfood.com for a list of places off the beaten track.
If you're planning to travel with your laptop... it's always a good idea to know where the top wi-fi spots are. Jiwire.com features more than 200- thousand wi-fi hot spots in 135 countries.
Before you head to the airport... you can check your flight status online at the airport's website or by going to flightstats.com. This site also has info on airport weather conditions and on- time performance, among other things.
And I couldn't resist including this one... thebathroomdiaries.com. It rates bathrooms in cities around the world. Tells you where each one is... and how clean it is.
